Mr. Pena earned his Master’s degree in Coastal and Port Engineering under Dr. William R. Dally at the University of North Florida. He also earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with honors from the University of North Florida. As an Engineer in Training, Mr. Pena has assisted with project design and management, field observations, data analysis, and modeling studies.
As a graduate student at the University of North Florida, Mr. Pena’s work involved the analysis of a long-term nearshore synthetic wave record produced for Brevard County. He was also involved in the local student COPRI chapter, assisting the planning of student and faculty seminars and field trips.
Since joining Olsen Associates, Inc. in 2019, Mr. Pena has assisted senior engineers with construction management and design in Longboat Key, prepared physical monitoring reports for multible projects in Florida and Alabama, aided in collecction and analysis of geotechnical data in St. Johns and Brevard Counties, and prepared permit application documents for Ponte Vedra Beach.
Mr. Pena is involved in the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Florida Shore and Beach Preservation Association.
